Frequently asked questions
Health coaching is a collaborative partnership designed to help you move from knowing what you want to do for your health to putting it into practice. Together, we explore what matters most to you, what may be getting in the way, and realistic steps that can help you move forward.Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, health coaching helps you create habits and strategies that fit your goals, values, and lifestyle.
Health coaching complements the care you receive from physicians, nutrition professionals, and other healthcare providers. As a health coach, I do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, or provide medical treatment.Instead, I help you take your health goals or recommendations you may have received from your healthcare providers and find practical ways to incorporate them into your everyday life.
Your coaching experience is personalized around what matters most to you. Depending on your goals, we may focus on areas such as nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, self-care, energy, and creating healthier routines that fit into your everyday life.We can also explore what may be getting in the way, build on what is already working, and identify realistic steps that help you move forward.
Each session is a conversation centered on you. We may explore what has been going well, challenges you've encountered, what you've learned about yourself, and what you would like to focus on next.I listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help you identify your strengths, explore possibilities, and determine realistic next steps. You may leave a session with an action you have chosen to work on before we meet again.
No. Health coaching is not about handing you a prescribed diet or exercise plan or telling you exactly what you should do. Instead, we work together to explore nutrition and movement choices that support your goals and are realistic for your life.If you need an individualized meal plan, exercise prescription, or medical nutrition guidance, I will encourage you to work with the appropriate qualified healthcare or fitness professional. Coaching can then help you find practical ways to put those recommendations into action.
You don't have to figure that out on your own. Empower True Vitality offers different levels of coaching support depending on where you are starting, what you want to work on, and the level of support you are looking for.During your complimentary Wellness Clarity Session, we can talk about what you hope to accomplish and determine which program may be the best fit for you.
The ETV Method™, Evolve, Transform, Vitalize, is the three-phase coaching framework at the heart of every Empower True Vitality program. Each phase builds on the one before it, helping you better understand where you are today, turn that awareness into action, and continue building habits that support your health for the years ahead.
An immersion is an extended, focused experience designed to give you dedicated time to work more deeply on one area of your health. Rather than following the format of a regular coaching session, we use the time to focus on a specific area you want to strengthen or change.Depending on your goals, an immersion might involve reviewing your current routines, identifying patterns and opportunities, working through a particular challenge, and developing a personalized strategy you can begin putting into practice. The focus is determined by what would be most valuable to you at that point in your coaching program. The goal is for you to come away with greater clarity, a clear direction, and a practical strategy for moving forward.
The Wellness Clarity Session is an opportunity for us to have a conversation about where you are with your health, what you would like to change, and what may be getting in the way. You'll also have an opportunity to learn more about health coaching, ask questions, and see whether working together feels like the right fit. There is no obligation to enroll in a coaching program.
Not at all. You may know exactly what you want to work on, or you may simply know that you would like to make your health more of a priority, but aren't sure where to begin.Part of the coaching process can be gaining clarity about what matters most to you and identifying a place to start.
Coaching sessions are available virtually, giving you the flexibility to meet from a comfortable private space that works for you. If you live locally, in-person coaching may also be available by arrangement.Once you choose your coaching program, we'll discuss the option that works best for you, and you'll receive everything you need to schedule your sessions.
Coaching sessions are approximately 60 minutes long, allowing our conversation to unfold without feeling rushed.
The frequency of your coaching sessions depends on the program you choose. Each Empower True Vitality program is structured to provide consistent support while giving you time between sessions to put what you are learning into practice. We'll review the schedule for your program before you begin so you'll know what to expect.Specific session frequency and program details are outlined on the Programs page for more details.
The time between sessions is an important part of the coaching process. It's an opportunity to put your chosen action steps into practice, notice what is working, and learn from what isn't.When we meet again, we build on what you discovered rather than expecting everything to have gone perfectly.
Knowing what to do and being able to consistently fit it into your life are two very different things.Health coaching gives you the space to look beyond what you think you should be doing and explore what actually works for you. Instead of starting over every time something doesn't go as planned, we use those experiences to learn, adjust, and find a way forward that fits your life. You don't have to do everything at once. Sometimes the most important place to begin is with one step that feels doable.
